Description of key information

Daphnia magna was exposed under static conditions for 48 h to one concentration (100 mg/L) of the substance. No toxic effect was observed.

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The EC50 was reported as >100 mg/L.

In order to test acute toxicity to invertebrates of the substance, Dapnia magna was exposed to the test solution of 1 nominal concentration of the test substance (100 mg/L) and blank control solution for a period of 48 h under static conditions. The applied method was the EU Method C.2 (Acute Toxicity for Daphnia). Mobility and visible abnormalities were recorded at 24 and 48 h. The measured concentrations confirmed that devation from the nominal concentrations was less than 20 % (measured concentrations were range of 93.4 - 95.1 % of nominal concentrations). No toxic effect and abnormal behavior were observed.

This toxcity study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for the acute Daphnia study.
