Short term toxicity to fish: An acute toxicity study of sodium methanethiolate on fish, carried out according to test procedures in accordance with OECD guideline study 203, reveal 96-hour LC50 of 1.8 mg/L for zebra fish.

Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: An acute toxicity study of sodium methanethiolate on aquatic invertebrates, carried out according to test procedures in accordance with OECD guideline study 202, reveal 48-hour EC50’s in the range of 1.32 - 2.46 mg/L for freshwater Daphnia magna.

Toxicity to aquatic algae:

An acute toxicity study of sodium methanethiolate on freshwater algae, carried out according to test procedures in accordance with OECD guideline study 201, reveal a 72 -hour EC50 of 15 mg a.i./L and a NOEC of 4.11 mg a.i./L for Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata.
