Additional information

Results of biodegrability of Sodium diacetate were obtained by read across approaches from Acetic acid and Sodium acetate. Both substances are biodegradable, so applying read across approach, Sodium diacetate is also considered as a biodegradable substance.

According to column 2 of Annex VIII and IX of REACH, the studies for:

- determination of hydrolisis,

- simulation tests for biodegradation in water and sediments,

- biodegradation in soil,

- bioaccumulation,

do not need to be conducted as the Sodium diacetate is a biodegradable substance.

The calculated bioaccumulation factor for Sodium diacetate is 3.162 (BCFBAF v3.00, EPI Suite, EPA, US).

Soil Adsorption Coefficient for Sodium diacetate was calculated using EPI Suite (US EPA) and Koc is 1 and log Koc=0
