Description of key information

The following information is taken into account for effects on algae / cyanobacteria for the derivation ofthe PNEC:
The toxicity to algae for TM 11 -23 was performed according to OECD TG 201. The nominal values were 1, 3.2, 10, 32, 100% of a saturated solution, resulting in t=0 concentrations of 0.48, 1.57, 5.22, 12.9 and 47.5 mg/L, respectively. In view of the observed decrease in the measured concentration of the substance during the test, the time weighted average (TWA) concentration were used. The following values were determined, growth rate ErC50 of 3.1 mg/L with 95% confidence limits of 3.0 – 3.2 mg/, ErC10 of 1.17 mg/l and NOEC of 0.90 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
3.1 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
1.17 mg/L
