Key value for chemical safety assessment

Repeated dose toxicity: via oral route - systemic effects

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
NOAEL
50 mg/kg bw/day

Additional information

The subchronic application of the structural related ESBO to rats in doses up to 1.25 g/kg bw/d in the diet resulted in lower body weight gains in males. Liver weights were increased in rats fed either test article at 5% in diet; this increase was also observed in male rats fed either test article at 1%. Gross findings indicated a test article-related effect of ESBO on liver and kidney at 1% and 5%.

Rationale for read-across can be found in chapter 13
