Additional information

No short-term studies investigating the toxicity of KDDC (CAS No. 128-03-0) to aquatic invertebrate species was available. Therefore, a conclusion about this endpoint had to be drawn based on toxicity data from an analogue substance. The acute toxicity of SDDC (CAS No. 128-04-1) to Daphnia magna was investigated in a study (Van der Kerken, 2003). This test was performed according to OECD Guideline No. 202, Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test (1984), under GLP conditions. After 48 hours of exposure to the test material in a semi-static water regime (renewal of medium took place every 24 hours), lethal and sub-lethal effects (reduced mobility) were reported in daphnids present at the two highest concentrations (0.53 and 1.06 mg a.i./L). The lowest EC50 value was determined to be 0.67 mg a.i./L.
