Additional information

KDDC was tested on the skin and in the eye of rabbits.

The positive skin irritation test with KDDC could be due to the alkaline pH of the test material (pH = 12). Considering that the technical KDDC has only a pH of 9, classification will be a conservative assumption concerning the irritant properties.

An eye irritation test with KDDC did not fulfil the criteria for classification as an eye irritant.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: irritating

Effects on eye irritation: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

KDDC fulfils the criteria of DSD and CLP for classification as skin irritant, but not as eye irritant.
