Description of key information

The flammability of TMTM (tetramethylthiuram monosulphide) was performed in a study performed in accordance with EC regulation 440/2008 EC A 10 method. Twice prelimary tests are performed, no main test is made. TMTM is considered as not highly flammable under our experimental conditions: since the product melted but no propoagation occured.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Two assay of flammability are made by Tieche (DEFITRACE) in 2012 according to EC A10, twice with the same conclusion: at the start of the test, the test item was a yellow powder with agglomerates. Then the test item melted. Neither ignition, nor propagation was observed.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The flammability of TMTM was performed in accordance with EC regulation 440/2008 EC A 10 method. Twice preliminary tests are made, but no main test. TMTM is considered as not highly flammable under our experimentals conditions.

As a consequence, tetramethylthiuram monosulphide will not be classified as flammable
