BCF has not been tested because Direct Red 81, based on the estimated log Kow, has a low potential for bioaccumulation and/or a low potential to cross biological membranes. The estimated value of Direct Red 81 was 3.162 L/kg wet-wt, calculated by software EpiSuite 4.1., the suite of physical/chemical property and environmental fate estimation programs developed by the EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention Toxics and Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC).

The partition coefficient of - 2.05 (R&C, 2012), as reported under 4.7 Partition Coefficient end point, confirms this provisional consideration, leading to the conclusion that DR81 is not expected to be bioaccumulable.
