other: Time lag: 4 minutes

Preliminary study:

Time lag: 4 minutes ; amount 5 drops = 3 mL

Temperature   Results
 240°C  No-ignition
 260°C  Ignition

The preliminary results indicate that the auto-ignition temperature is aroud 260°C at 994 hPa.

Main study:

Time lag: 4 minutes ; amount of test item: 1 to 5 droplets = 0.6 to 3 mL

During the main test the auto-ignition temperature of nerol was determined to be 250°C at 994 hPa.

Conclusions:
The auto ignition temperature of nerol was determined to be 250 °C at 994 hPa.
Executive summary:

The determination of the auto flammability was performed in accordance with regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.15 "Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases)" (May 2008) and the Standard Test Method DIN 51794.

In the preliminary test, ignition was observed at around 260 °C at 994 hPa.

In the main test, the auto ignition temperature of nerol was determined to be 250 °C at 994 hPa.

Description of key information

The auto ignition temperature of nerol is 250 °C at 994 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
250 °C

Additional information

Key study conducted according to EU A.15 guideline and DIN 51794 method. The result is scientifically acceptable but not obtained under GLP. Therefore a reliability of 2 (reliable with restrictions) was assigned.
