According to the standard information requirements in Annex IX point 9.3.2 column 2, a bioaccumulation study does not need to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation. According to CLP regulation 1272/2008, part 4 on environmental hazards, the bioaccumulation is regarded to be low and is not triggering a classification for long-term effects if the log Pow of a substance is below 4. The estimated log Pow of bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate is 3.78. Hence the bioaccumulation potential of bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate is regarded to be low.
