Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted since 3,3'-iminodi(propylamine) has a log Kow of less than 3 (experimental log Kow = -1.25 @25°C, BASF AG 1989, report no. BRU 89.022).

Experimental data on the bioaccumulation potential of 3,3'-iminodi(propylamine) are not available. Therefore, the assessment is based on a weight-of-evidence approach by read-across data for two structurally analogous substances, bis(2-aminoethyl)amine (CAS 111-40-0) and TETA (CAS 112-24-3), as well as calculated data for 3,3'-iminodi(propylamine) itself.

Both read-across studies were performed similar to OECD 305, using Cyprinus carpio as test species. The BCF for bis(2-aminoethyl)amine (CAS 111-40-0) was determined to be equal or lower than 6.3 L/kg and the BCF for TETA (CAS 112-24-3) was lower than 5 L/kg (NITE, 2011).

In addition, the BCF of 3,3'-iminodi(propylamine) was estimated to be 3.2 L/kg using BCFBAF v3.01 of EPI Suite v4.11 (submodel Meylan et al. 1997/1999); substance within applicability domain; BASF SE, 2017) and 0.07 L/kg based on the calculation from the octanol-water partition coefficient (Byssche 1990).

In conclusion, significant accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.
