Conclusion on classification

Classification relevant information

Degradation:

-         Abiotic: t1/2: 15 min at pH 7 (RA from CAS 3069-29-2)

-         Biotic: Not readily biodegradable (RA from CAS 3069-33-8)

Acute Toxicity:

Fish: LC50 (96 h) = LC50 (96 h) = 200 mg/L (RA from CAS 1760-24-3)

Aq. Invertebrates: EC50 (48 h) = 81 mg/L (RA from CAS 1760-24-3)

Algae: EC50 (72 h) = 8.8 mg/L (RA from CAS 1760-24-3)

Chronic Toxicity:

Aq. Invertebrates: NOEC (21 d) ≥1 mg/L (RA from CAS 1760-24-3)

Algae: NOEC (72 h) = 3.1 mg/L (RA from CAS 1760-24-3)

Conclusion on classification

N-[3-(dimethoxymethylsilyl)-2-ethylpropyl]ethylenediamine (CAS 23410-40-4) is not considered readily biodegradable. Short-term toxicity data are available for an appropriate read across substance for all trophic levels. The most sensitive trophic level was algae with an EC50 (48 h) of 8.8 mg/L. Adequate long term toxicity data are available for aquatic invertebrates and the most sensitive trophic level algae (NOEC > 1 mg/L). Based on these data, the substance is not classified or labeled, according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 or further amendments (ATPs).
