- Executive summary:
The objective of the study was to determine the capacity of a solid matter to increase the rate or the intensity of burning reaction of a combustible item being dry fibrous cellulose, according to the UN Test O.1 (Part III, Section 34.4.1) guideline and under GLP conditions. No main reaction was recorded with the test item / cellulose mixture in proportions 1:1 and 4:1. Therefore, the test item was not considered as an oxidising solid of Division 5.1 and thus was not assigned to any packing group and not classified as an oxidising solid under CLP regulation.

Description of key information
Based on an experimental data performed on both the dry form and the aqueous form of the reaction mass, the test item is not considered as oxidizing.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Oxidising properties:
- non oxidising
Additional information
Experimental data are available on both the dry form and the aqueous solution of the reaction mass of potassium trifluoroacetate and potassium trifluoromethanesulphinate (Reaction mass of TFAK and TFSK). According to these data, no oxidizing properties are suspected whatever the form was.
Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on an experimental data performed on both the dry form and the aqueous solution (approximately 36%), the reaction mass is not considered to have oxidising properties either under the dry form or in aqueous solution.
