The test item does not have to be classified as explosive according to GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.1..
EC 440/2008:
The test item has no explosive properties according to EC 440/2008, Part A, A.14. - Executive summary:
Due to the high decomposition energy (see section 4.2), it was tested whether the test item shows some effect on heating under confinement according to UN-Test series: 1(b)/2(b): Koenen-Test, is sensitive to impact according to UN-Test series: 3(a)(ii): BAM Fallhammer or is sensitive to friction according to UN-Test series: 3(b)(i): BAM friction apparatus (Class 1). Additionally, the BAM Trautzl-Test (UN-Test F.3) and the Time/Pressure-Test (UN-Test 1(c)(i)/C.1) were performed.
Heating under confinement: Koenen-Test (UN-Test: 1(b)/2(b)): The Koenen-Test (UN-Test 1(b)/2(b)) of the test item shows no effect on heating under confinement with an orifice plate with an orifice diameter of 1 or 2 mm. The assessment of the results with regard to test series 1 (b) was “-”. The assessment of the results with regard to test series 2 (b) was “-”.
Mechanical sensitivity: Friction: BAM Friction Apparatus (UN-Test: 3(b)(i)): The assessment of the results with regard to test series 3(b)(i) was “-”.
Mechanical sensitivity: Impact: BAM Fallhammer (UN-Test: 3(a)(ii)): The assessment of the results with regard to test series 3(a)(ii) was “-”.
BAM Trautzl test (UN-Test F.3): The assessment of the results was “No”. Due to this result the result of the UN Gap Test 1(a)/2(a) is deemed to be “-”.
Time/Pressure Test (UN-Test 1(c)(i)/2(c)(i)/C.1): The assessment of the results with regard to test series 1 (c) (i) was “-”. The assessment of the results with regard to test series 2 (c) (i) was “-”. The assessment of the results with regard to test series C.1 was “No”.
The test item has no explosive properties.
Reference
Residual moisture:
The test item contains a residual moisture of 0.1 wt.-%, which was determined by drying the test item under vacuum.
Heating under confinement: Koenen-Test (UN-Test: 1(b)/2(b)
Tests with orifice plates with 1.0 and 2.0 mm diameter orifice were performed.

The test item shows no reaction with either an orifice plate with an orifice-diameter of 1 mm or 2 mm on heating under confinement.
Due to the chemical structure and the physical state (pure solid) an explosion for an orifice-diameter of 6 mm can be excluded.
Therefore, the Koenen-Test (UN-Test 1(b)/2(b)) of the test item shows no effect on heating under confinement with an orifice plate with an orifice diameter of 1 or 2 mm.
The assessment of the results with regard to test series 1 (b) was “-”.
The assessment of the results with regard to test series 2 (b) was “-”.
Mechanical sensitivity: Friction: BAM Friction Apparatus (UN-Test: 3(b)(i))
No explosion was observed within 6 tests using a 360 N loading.
The assessment of the results with regard to test series 3(b)(i) was “-”.
Mechanical sensitivity: Impact: BAM Fallhammer (UN-Test: 3(a)(ii))
No explosion was observed within 6 tests dropping the 10 kg mass from 0.50 m (50 J).
The assessment of the results with regard to test series 3(a)(ii) was “-”.
BAM Trautzl test (UN-Test F.3)
The assessment of the results was “No” (the expansion of the lead block was less than 10 cm³ per 10 g of sample).
Due to this result the result of the UN Gap Test 1(a)/2(a) is deemed to be “-”.
Time/Pressure Test (UN-Test 1(c)(i)/2(c)(i)/C.1)
The assessment of the results with regard to test series 1(c)(i) was “-” (gauge pressure of 2070 kPa was not reached: substance showed not the ability to deflagrate).
The assessment of the results with regard to test series 2(c)(i) was “-” (gauge pressure of 2070 kPa was not reached: substance showed no or slowly deflagration).
The assessment of the results with regard to test series C.1 was “No” (a pressure rise to 2070 kPa was not achieved).
Description of key information
