Oryzias latipes |
Experimental data from MITI Japan for read across CAS:88-44-8 |
Based on the studies summarized in the above table for the target substance 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid and the read across substance, the endpoint value was found to vary between LC50 = 100.4 mg/L to 193.451mg/L in a 96 hrs and at 48 hrs. LC50 =480 mg/L; on the basis of mortality effect. Based on the above weight of evidence values, it is concluded that the test substance dose not qualifies for the aquatic toxicity.
Long-term toxicity to fish
According to column I of annex IX, Long-term toxicity testing on fish need not to be conducted as it is already provide as part of Annex VIII requirements. Therefore this study was considered to be waived.
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
The lethal concentration (LC50) value of 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid in aquatic invertebrate (Daphnia Magna) in a 48 hr study was estimated to be 106.623 mg/L. Thus considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance, it is concluded that 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid not exhibit short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrate (Daphnia Magna).
Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
According to column I of annex IX ; Long-term toxicity testing on invertebrate (species : Daphnia magna) need not to be conducted as it is already provided as a part of Annex VII requirements. Therefore this end point was considered for waiver.
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria
No. of studies were reviewed for toxicity to aquatic algae from reliable sources having Klimisch rating 2 and 4.
