Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH, Annex VII the tests does not need to be conducted if the substance is inorganic. Thus no additional test is required for this endpoint. However, in order to use Chesar for environmental risk assessment and considering the ionic nature of this salt and its full miscibility in water, a theoretical log POW of -3 is used as replacement value.

Additional information

The exposure scenario and risk assessment tool Chesar requires a logPOW value in order to work and cannot operate with a blank value for logPOW. Therefore, it was qualitatively assessed, based on the ionic nature of the substance and the very good water solubility that a value of 1000 as partitioning coefficient for water/octanol is appropriate and consequently the logPOW is estimated being -3.
