Additional information

Only low toxicity to aquatic organisms was observed for the compound N-Butylpyrrolidone. At Limit tests (100 mg/L) no toxic effects were observed in fish (acute test) and daphnids (acute and long-term exposure). Long-term NOEC (33 d) of 82 mg/L for fish was established in an early life-stage toxicity test. Most susceptible species was green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata with a NOEC (72 h) of 40 mg/L.

Conclusion on classification

Only low toxicity to aquatic organisms was observed for the compound N-Butylpyrrolidone. Hence environmental classification of the compound is not required.
