Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

An OECD TG 202 guideline study in compliance with GLP criteria on Daphnia magna is available for the substance. In this study, 20 daphnids per treatment (5 per vessel) were exposed to treatments of 0 (negative control) 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100% v/v of a saturated solution (prepared at an initial 100 mg/L loading rate) under static conditions for 48 hours. The test concentrations were analytically verified by HPLC analysis and UV-detection at the start and end of the exposure period and determined to be < LOQ, < LOQ, < LOQ, 0.18, 0.56 and 1.81 mg/L, respectively) in a range-finding study. The study met the acceptability criteria prescribed by the protocol and was considered valid. No immobilisation was observed in the control. After 48 hours exposure, the percentage of immobile daphnids was 100% in 32 and 100 % v/v saturated solution (equivalent to 0.56 and 1.8 mg/L, respectively). The immobilisation was 0% in other treated concentrations. Based on these results, the 48-h EC50 was determined to be 0.32 mg/L (95% C.L.: 0.18 – 0.56 mg/L) based on the initial measured concentrations, which remained stable during the test.
