Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The result of a chronic earthworm test is available and no concern is indicated for the terrestrial compartment.

Due to the intrinsic properties of cationic surfactants the result of one long-term terrestrial test is considered of higher reliability for the calculation of the terrestrial PNEC when compared to the Equilibrium Partitioning Method based PNEC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There are no data available for characterizing the short-term effects of N-[2-(piperazin-1-yl)ethyl]C18-insaturated-alkylamide on terrestrial plants. N-[2-(piperazin-1-yl)ethyl]C18-insaturated-alkylamide sorb strongly to soil and the bioavailable fraction is quickly degraded to form 1 aminoethylpiperazine. Therefore one long-term earthworm test has been performed to assess the long-term risk for terrestrial species. Further tests on terrestrial organisms do not need to be conducted if no concern is indicated for the terrestrial compartment based on one long-term test result.
