Description of key information

The substance is acutely harmful to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
30.8 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
62.1 mg/L

Additional information

Acute toxicity to algae was investigated in a static GLP guideline study according to OECD guideline 201 using Desmodesmus subspicatus as test organism (BASF 2012). After 72 hours of exposure an EC50 of 62.1 mg/L was estimated while the EC10 is at 30.8 mg/L, both related to the endpoint growth rate and the analytically verified nominal concentrations.
