Additional information

There are two additional key studies; one each for the two substances that comprise the reaction product. The 48-hr EC50 for CAS No. 68411-30-3 sodium 4-undecylbenzenesulfonate is 2.9 mg/L based on a 1990 GLP Guideline study. The 48-hr EC50 for CAS No. 12068-03-0 sodium toluenesulphonate is 54 mg/L based on a 1995 GLP Guideline study.

There are several additional supporting guideline studies for other hydrotropes and for linear alkylbenzenesulphonate including exposures of amphipods, midge and aquatic worms to LAS. The 48-hr and 96-hr LC50s are 7.6 and 3.5 mg/L, 8.6 and 6.5 mg/L, and 2.4 and 1.8 mg/L, respectively for these three species of aquatic invertebrates.
