Description of key information
According to Column 2 of Annex IX to the REACH Regulation the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. TMP PE is readily biodegradable (See section 5.2.1 of IUCLID for additional details).
Two studies are available, one on the target substance and one the analogue Trimethylolpropane Carboxylic Acids, C5 -9 .
Both of them demonstrates the high biodegradability of the target substance in soil ( 78.8% of biodegradation in 63 days with a DegT50 of only 7 days (Tosin, 2013).).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Half-life in soil:
- 7 d
- at the temperature of:
- 28 °C
