Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice: Do not leave the victim unattended.

Protection of first-aiders: No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without

suitable training.

If inhaled: If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical

advice.

In case of skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

If symptoms persist, call a physician.

In case of eye contact: Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water.

Remove contact lenses.

Protect unharmed eye.

If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

If swallowed: Keep respiratory tract clear.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon

dioxide.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: None known.

Hazardous combustion products: No hazardous combustion products are known

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

Further information: Standard procedure for chemical fires.

Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances

and the surrounding environment.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment.

Avoid dust formation.

Methods for cleaning up: Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust.

Sweep up and shovel. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Manufacture and use of this chemical intermediate takes place under strictly controlled conditions, as described in Art. 17/18 REACH. The substance is rigorously contained during manufacturing and use and appropriate risk management measures including PPE (i.g. during charging or sampling) are applied. Occupational exposure is reduced to a minimum and well controlled by measurements. A management system covering all general aspects of a chemical production is in place, especially cleaning and maintenance of plants and equipment. An authorisation scheme based on instructions covering the whole process ensures that only trained and authorised staff handles the substance.

Advice on safe handling: This substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as specified in REACH regulation article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements in ac-cordance with risk-based management system should be available at each manufacturing site. During the whole lifecy-cle all necessary measures should be undertaken to minimize emissions and any resulting exposure.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.

Hygiene measures: General industrial hygiene practice.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards.

Advice on common storage: No materials to be especially mentioned

Further information on storage stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters: Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

Engineering measures: If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapour or mist, use process enclosures, local ex-haust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.

Personal protective equipment

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields, Safety glasses

Hand protection

Material: PVC

Remarks: After contamination with product change the gloves immedi-ately and dispose of them according to relevant national and local regulations

Skin and body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Respiratory protection: In case of dust formation particle filter. No personal respiratory protective equipment normally required.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No specific test data related to reactivity available for this product or its ingredients.

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous reactions will not occur.

No hazards to be specially mentioned

Conditions to avoid: No data available

Materials to avoid: No specific data.

Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products are known.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Contaminated packaging: Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
