Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The predicted bioaccumulation with EPISuite (BCFBAF v.3.01) using log Kow 6.5 gave a low BCF of 56 l/kg wwt so there seems to be no concern for bioaccumulation.

Additional information

A waiver is requested for the Bioaccumulation study as it is scientifically not possible to perform the Bioaccumulation study because of the lack of a suitable analytical method (in line with REACH Annex XI, Chapter 2). The predicted bioaccumulation with EPISuite (BCFBAF v.3.01) showed the BCF to be low with a biotransformation halflife of 16.5 days, so there seems to be no concern for bioaccumulation.

This is reasonable as Diacid 1550 is readily biodegradable and it is likely that the main constituents of Diacid 1550 will also be biotransformed in higher organisms. At environmental pH Diacid 1550 behaves as an ionic compound where absorption in fish is not governed solely by log Kow.
