Additional information

Based on REACH regulation annex VII column 2 (specific rules for adapation fron column 1) the study need not be conducted if the substance is explosive or ignites spontaneously with air at room temperature or for solids, if the substance has a melting point < 160°C, or if preliminary results exclude self-heating of the substance up to 400°C.

2,4-dinitrophenol is an explosive solid in dry form, with a melting point between 112-114 °C.

Furthermore dinitrophenol is combustible though it may require some effort to ignite (Association of American Railroads; Bureau of Explosives. Emergency Handling of Hazardous Materials in Surface Transportation. Association of American Railroads, Pueblo, CO. 2005, p. 354)
