Description of key information

 A differential scanning calorimeter test conducted on the sample indicated that the sample undergoes an exothermic event from 127.7°C which has a heat of decomposition of -414.4 J/g.
Based on result of the DSC test (heat of decomposition < 500 J/g), it is beyond reasonable doubt that the material will not exhibit explosive properties. Therefore it was not considered appropriate to conduct the A14 tests.

Examination of the structural formula for the sample indicates:

- There is a C=C group which is associated with explosive properties.

- The oxygen balance is -170 which is above the criteria for consideration (-200).
