Partition coefficient

Description of key information

The test material was found to be unstable in water therefore formal testing was not possible. In accordance with the test guidance and after approval from the Sponsor, the Partition Coefficient was estimated using prediction software (KOWWIN v1.68).
The prediction software uses SMILES input to calculate the Partition Coefficient.
Result: Log P = -1.3 log units

The partition coefficient was estimated for both the test material TBA Clavulanate and the read across material potassium clavulanate as both test items were found to be unstable in water. Due to this a computer prediction was run the software programme (KOWWIN) v 1.68). The software uses the SMILES code to calculate the partition coefficient and came up with the following results:

TBA Clavulanate: -1.3

Potassium Clavulanate: -5.8.
