Additional information

The short-term toxicity test results are avilable for the three trophic level (fish, daphnia and algae). The LC50/EC50 values of >101.8 mg/L (fish), >0.31mg/L (invertebratae) and >0.23mg/L (algae) exceed the water solubility of the substance. This indicates that a toxic concentration cannot be reached in the environment following short-term exposure. Therefore the substance is not classified for acute aquatic toxicity. For the purpose of PNEC calculation, a LC50/EC50 value of 100 mg/L is used.

The assessment factor is 1000 for no long-term toxicity to aquatics. The PNEC fresh-water is derived by dividing EC50 by 1000. Thus, the PNEC fresh-water is 0.1 mg/L. for lacking the aqatic toxicity test for marine water, we derived the PNEC marine-water by deviding the EC50 of the aquaic toxicity test for fresh water by 10000. Thus the PNEC marine-water is 0.01 mg/L. The PNEC intermittent releases is derived by deviding the EC50 of the aquatic toxicity test for fresh water by 100. Thus the PNEC intermittent releases is 1 mg/L. The PNECstp is derived by dividing the EC50 of microorganisms in sludge by 100. Thus, PNECstp is 1 mg/L. For lacking the toxicity test data for sediment dwelling organisms and soil dwelling organisms, the partition coefficient method is adpoted to derive the PNECsed (fresh water), PNECsed (marine water) and PNECsoil

Conclusion on classification

From the available short-term toxicity results for aquatic organism, no toxicity was observed up and exceeding the water solubility (< 0.025 mg/l). Thus, it is not classified for aquatic toxicity.
