Description of key information

Determination of explosive properties was conducted according to EC 440/2008 A.14. The substance was found to be non explosive. No exothermic reaction was observed up to a temperature of 400 deg. C. A gas producing reaction was observed (starting at 280 deg. C.) possibly resulting from a decomposition reaction.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

A test of mechanical sensitivity with respect to friction is not required for liquids. - DSC: During the thermal sensitivity test no exothermic reaction was observed up to a temperature of 400 deg. C. - closed DTA: determination of a gas producing reaction, perhaps with regard to a decomposition reaction. Gas production starts at a temperature of 280 deg. C. The amount of gas produced calculated assuming a sample density of 0.86 kg/l is 17.2Nl/kg. The substance is therefore non explosive.
