Additional information

Physical state

Physical state of the substance was derived from differntial thermal analysis and is solid at normal atmospheric pressure and 20°C.

Melting point

Melting point of the substance was determined according to OECD 102 and gave a melting range between 182.4 - 197.5°C.

Boiling point

Boiling point was assessed according to OECD method 103 and no boiling point could be determined up to the decomposition temperature of the substance.

Density

The study on relative density was conducted according to OECD Guideline 109 and gives relative density as 1.58

Particle size distribution

Data waiving: In accordance with REACH regulation, Annex VII, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted since the substance is marketed and/or used in a non solid or granular form.

Vapour pressure

Vapour pressure of the substance was determined according to OECD 104 (effusion method) and is given as 0.00000091 Pa (20°C), 0.0000014 Pa (25°C) and 0.000011 Pa (50°C).

Partition coefficient

The log Pow of Tetraethylamonium heptadecafluorooctanesulphonate is calculated by 4.78.

Water solubility

The water solubility of the substance was determined according to OECD method 105 as 533 g/L at 20 °C and pH = 5.

Surface tension

Surface tension of the substance was determined according to OECD method 115 and is given as 21.6 mN/m.

Flash point

Data waiving: The study on flash point does not need to be conducted as according to Guidance Document R.7a (2008) the flash point is only relevant to liquids and low melting point solids.

Auto flammability

In accordance with UN method A 16 this study does not need to be conducted as there were no exothermal reactions within 24 h.

Flammability

The substance is not flammable.

Explosiveness

Data waiving: In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted, as the substance does not contain a chemical moiety suggesting a potential for explosivity (according to United Nations (2003), (Annex 6, Table 6.1)

Oxidising properties

Data waiving: In accordance with column 2 of REACh Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance does not contain a chemical moiety suggesting an oxidising potential (according to United Nations (2003),(Annex 6, Table 6.1).
