Description of key information

Bioaccumulation in fish (Lepomis macrochirus) was determined according to U.S. EPA method OPPTS 850.1730 which is in most parts equivalent to OECD 305 and the following bioconcentration factors: edible fraction = 484, non-edible fraction = 1124, whole body = 856.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
856 dimensionless

Additional information

BCF is not normalized to lipid content although it was determined. However, normalization would only make sense if the substance would accumulate in lipid. The substance is known not to primarily accumulate in lipid, rather it can be measured in the protein fraction of serum and liver.
