Oxidising properties:

Additional information

In the Klimisch 1 key study from Bütfering (2012) the oxidizing properties of the test item Butanedioic Acid, 2(or 3)-Sulfo-, 4-[2-[(1-Oxododecyl) amino] ethyl] ester, Disodium Salt was determined according to EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids)). Prior to testing the test material was grinded and mixed with cellulose. The mixtures of 10 to 30 % sample : cellulose showed after ignition by a gas burner only a very slow combustion. The flame ceased immediately and only the glow propagated up to 15 mm within 3 minutes. The mixtures of 40 to 90 % sample : cellulose showed slow propagation of the flame. After a distance up to 130 mm and 3 to 5 minutes the flame ceased. The burning time of the reference substance was 162 s for 200 mm.

Justification for classification or non-classification

As the reference substance has a faster burning time than the fasted burning time of the test item, the test item has no oxidizing properties according to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 EEC.
