In the Klimisch 1 non-GLP study from Kintrup (2012) the melting point of Butanedioic acid, 2(or 3)-sulfo-, 4-[2-[(1-oxododecyl)amino]ethyl]ester, disodium salts was determined with the DSC method according to OECD 102 and EU method A.1. The test item did not show melting up to 193°C.In the temperature range between about 30 °C and 70 °C and at ca. 100 °C the test item shows reversible endothermic effects . These effects are possibly solid–solid phase transformations. These effects are not the melting of the test item (main component) which was verified by subsequent tests with the Kofler-heating bank and with the melting in a capillary.

For the risk assessment a melting point of 193°C will be used.

This information is considered to be relevant and reliable for the further risk assessment.
