A log Kow > 4.1 (at 21°C) was determined for Bis(2-ethylhexyl) carbonate.

Additional information

The n-octanol/water partition coefficient of the test substance was determined according to OECD Guideline 107 (HPLC Method, 2004) and EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient, 2008). In deviation from the recommendation of the OECD, the guideline 107 (suitable for log Kow values in the range (-2 to 4) was used because the test item is not UV-active and the estimation via HPLC/UV/VIS or Diode Array Detector was not possible. The

log Kow was >4.1 (21°C).

This value is supported by the calculation that yielded a log Kow (log Kow=6.96 at 25°C) was estimated using EPIWIN v3.20, KOWWIN v1.67. Due to missing information about the applicability of the calculation model in respect to the substance under investigation the result should be treated with care.
