Additional information

In the Klimisch 1 GLP study from Schneider (2001) the water solubility of Chloroacetamide was determined using by HPLC following OECD 105 and EU method A.6 using the flask method. Three flasks were placed into a water bath at 30°C in 24 hour increments. The test solutions with about 380 g/L were stirred continuously at this temperature. After 72 hours, the temperature was changed to 20°C and the test solutions were kept for another 24 hours. The test solutions were filtered prior to analysis. Each solution was analysed twice by HPLC. A dependence of the measured saturation concentrations on the time to equilibration was not observed. Therefore all six values (three replicates, each measured twice) were used for the calculation of the mean. The water solubility of Chloroacetamide at 20°C was determined as 52.5 +/- 3.3 g/L.

The results of this study are considered reliable and relevant for the risk assessment.
