- Relative self-ignition temperature:
- > 400 °C
- Remarks on result:
- other:
- Remarks:
- at atm. press. of 99.3 kPa
Any other information on results incl. tables
The determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to the Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008,Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.16 Relative self-ignition temperature for solids.
Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, R-Pantolactone showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement, R-Pantolactone was completely evaporated and the cube was empty.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- R-Pantolactone is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
- Executive summary:
During this study, the self-ignition temperature was determined. Therefore, the test item was filled into a cube and heated in an oven. The temperatures of the oven and the sample were continuously recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to approximately 400 °C.
R-Pantolactone showed no exothermic reaction. R-Pantolactone is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
The atmospheric pressure during the measurement was 99.3 kPa.
