Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The partition coefficient of the substance C8 -10 AS, Na (CAS No. 85338 -42 -7) was obtained as a result of the weight of evidence approach. It was calculated using two independent fragment-based QSAR methods. Additionally, data known for category members C8 AS, Na (CAS No. 142 -31 -4) and C10 AS, Na (CAS No. 142 -87 -0) were used (for the former: calculation based on solubilities in water and n-octanol according to OECD 107; for the latter: slow stirring method, according to OECD 123). The results are consistent: the range obtained with one QSAR method (from -0.27 to 0.71) covers to high extent the range determined by the calculations with the other QSAR method (from -0.12 to 0.96) and these ranges are in the range defined by the read-across results from C8 (-2.31) and C10 (1.72). Temperature and pH are not reported for the QSAR calculations, it is thus assumed that the temperature corresponds to read-across data (20 °C for both substances) and pH is close to neutral (ca. 7) for calculated values and reported as 8 in the experiment with C10.
