Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of the submission item. Daphnia turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an EC50 (48h) of > 100 mg/L. Thus, the Reaction product of Maleic anhydride, 2-Ethylhexylamine and Triethanolamine is considered to be acutely not harmful to aquatic organisms. Studies on the effects of the test item towards fish and algae support this conclusion by providing a LC50 (96h) of > 150 - 220 mg/L for fish and an ErC50 (72h) of 197.27 mg/L for algae.

No data on long-term toxicity on fish and aquatic invertebrates are available. The chemical safety assessment of the registered substance does not indicate the need to further investigate long-term effects on aquatic organisms.
