PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Sucroglyceride C12-18, C18unsatd. is readily biodegradable fulfilling the 10 d window criterion and biodegradable under anaerobic conditions. Its rapid biotic degradation in water leads to negligibly low concentrations of Sucroglyceride C12‐18, C18unsatd. in the aquatic environment and thus to insignificant concentrations in aquatic organisms.

In connection with readily biodegradability of the substance, it can be concluded that Sucroglyceride C12‐18, C18unsatd. is supposed to be not biologically available in the aquatic compartment and it can be assumed that bioaccumulation in aquatic species is negligible.

In addition, in case of ester fission, Sucroglyceride C12‐18, C18unsatd. consisting of sucrose, glycerol and fatty acids is likely to be rapidly metabolised in organisms.

Furthermore, the substance is not classified for aquatic toxicity, chronic toxicity, mutagenicity or carcinogenicity.

Based on these data, Sucroglyceride C12-18, C18unsatd. is not PBT/vPvB.
