Description of key information

Flash point is reported as lying between zero and 54 degrees Centigrade (weight of evidence from published data)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
13 °C

Additional information

Analogous results from various peer reviewed handbooks suggest that the most reliable value for flashpoint is 13 degrees Centigrade. However, in conjunction with known boiling point, all reported flash point values indicate that the substance should be classified as highly flammable under the terms of Directive 67/548/EEC and as flammable liquid (category 2) under GHS as reflected by Regulation (EC) 1272/2008.
