Additional information

The test substance is a mixture of approx. 6 major components and several traces. The water solubility of the main components as a mixture of chronium complexes was determined to be <0.0005 g/L at 574nm at 20°C using a spectrophotometeric method. Thus the dissociation constant study does not need to be performed as the substance is very low soluble in water.

The water solubility which was determined to be 0.023 g/L at 226 nm is related to one main volatile component as 2 -naphthol. The dissociation constance of its was determined to be pKa= 9.51 at 25°C (experimentally, peer-reviewed data; cited in SRC PhysProp Database; Ref.: Bhattacharyya D et al; 1986) and it appears outside the environmentally relevant pH range (5 -9).
