Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the substance will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No data on the phototransformation in air are available for the mixture N3/N4 -amine. Therefore, the assessment is based on estimated data for the major constituents N-(2 -aminoethyl)-1,3 -propanediamine (CAS 13531 -52 -7), N,N'-bis(3 -aminopropyl)ethylenediamine (CAS 10563 -26 -5), ethylenediamine (CAS 107 -15 -3) , 1,3-propanediamine, N,N''-(iminodi-2,1-ethanediyl)bis-, (CAS 58214-71-4) as well as for the structurally similar substance trientine (CAS 112-24-3). The photodegradation potential was calculated with AOPWIN v1.92 (EPISuite v4.11); the results are summarized in the table below:

Based on the available calculated data for the read-across substances, the N3/N4 -amine mix is concluded to be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.
