Description of key information

Under the test conditions, the 72h-ECr50 of the substance was determined to be > 17 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In an algal toxicity study performed in accordance with OECD guideline 201 and GLP, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was exposed to the substance at concentrations of 0 (control), 0.17, 0.54, 1.7, 5.4 and 17 mg/L (nominal) for 96 h under static conditions. Measurement of biomass and growth inhibition was done by determination of cell densities at 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h using electronic particle counter.

The ErC50, EyC50 and EbC50 at 72 h were determined to be >17, 6.9 (5.5-8.7) and 7.1 (5.5-9.0) mg/L, respectively. The ErC50, EyC50 and EbC50 at 96 h were determined to be >17, 9.2 and 8.2 (7.0-9.6) mg/L, respectively. The No-Observed-Effect-Concentration (NOEC) after 72 and 96 h were calculated to be 0.54 and 1.7 mg/L, respectively.

Under the test conditions, the 72h-ErC50 of the substance was determined to be > 17 mg/L in green algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata).
