DSC

The test item Oleyl Palmitamide, CAS-No. 16260-09-6 shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition earliest at ca. 428 °C (at 1012 mbar) according to the definition in the OECD guideline 103 (mean value from repeat determination; 1stheating run).

The start of the area of boiling is defined by using the on-set temperature. The earliest onset of boiling/and or decomposition was observed at the following temperatures:

First measurement:       428 °C

Second measurement:  427 °C

From 428 °C the test item shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition with evaporation on the decomposition products.

TGA

The DSC measurements were confirmed by means of TGA measurements under the same measuring conditions.

Description of key information

ca. 428 °C at 1012 hPa

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

From 428 °C the test item shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition with evaporation of the decomposition products. The result was determined using DSC in conjunction with TGA.
