Description of key information

In the absence of ecotoxicity data for this substance data have been read across from a soluble rhenium compound, as is standard practice for the hazard and risk assessment of metals. The EC50 value, expressed as perrhenic acid, is 209.44 mg/L, for growth rate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Data have been read across from sodium rhenate. Evonik Stockhausen (2010) is a GLP compliant, guideline study and is considered suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint. Five test concentrations were used: 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg/l. Recovery rates in analytical determinations were between 100% and 104% of nominal. Test results were therefore expressed as nominal concentrations.
