log Koc = 3.7-4.2

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the adsorption potential of Glycerides, C8-21 and C8-21-unsaturated, mono- and di-, acetates (CAS No. 97593-30-1) are available. Since the substance is a complex UVCB substance, QSAR estimations using the KOCWIN v2.00 program have been calculated for representative fatty acid components (C12 mono/diacetate and C12 di/monoacetate). Log Koc values range from 3.7 to 6.4 (log Kow method) and from 4.2 to 6.8 (MCI method)(López Parrón, 2011). The estimated log Kow value of the C12 di/monoacetate (10.2) is outside the Kow range of the training set of both log Kow and MCI method (0.31-8.70 and -2.11-9.10 respectively). Therefore the obtained values should be taken with caution. The definite values may not be fully reliable but indicate a high adsorption potential, which is confirmed by the reliable values obtained for the C12 mono/diacetate component (log Koc 3.7-4.2, within the applicability domain of the methods). Since the adsorption potential is expected to be higher at higher fatty acid C-chain length and degree of esterification, the log Koc value of the C12 mono/diacetate component is considered a valid indicator to state that the overall adsorption potential of Glycerides, C8-21 and C8-21-unsaturated, mono- and di-, acetates (CAS No. 97593-30-1) is expected to be high.
