Description of key information

The water solubility of FC-3283 ranged from 0.0695 ug/L to 1.96 ug/L with an average measured value of 0.381 ug/L at 23 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The water solubility of FC-3283 was measured according to OPPTS 830.7840 “Water Solubility: Column Elution Method; Shake Flask Method” and was conducted under GLP. FC-3283 has a low water solubility (<0.01 g/L), but the flask method was deemed most appropriate method. Triplicate samples were incubated for 1, 2, 3, and 6 days at approximately 30 °C. Concentrations were determined using a purge and trap gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), with the test substance itself used for calibration standards and Fluorobenzene as an internal standard.

Duplicate measurements from a given test vessel reproduced RPD of 1.3 - 14%, the overall %RSD for intra-day and inter-days range from 55 - 130%, the repeatability of <15% requirement was not met. For difficult substance such as FC-3283, solubility in the range reported (0.0695 ug/L – 1.96 ug/L) with an average measured value of 0.381 ug/L is acceptable.
