In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex VIII, information requirement section 9.3.1, the determination of adsorption coefficient based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption. The octanol water partition coefficient of Methyl Isothiocyanate was estimated at 1.3. Based on this value we can safely conclude that Methyl Isothiocyanate is characterized by a low potential of adsorption. As a consequence, the main target environmental compartment of Methyl Isothiocyanate is the aquatic compartment.
