Additional information

Malachite Green (MG) is principle released in waste water.

The behaviour of MG is determined on the basis of properties as highly soluble in water, a very low Henry's law constant and a little related to organic matrices. Volatilization from most soil and water surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process based upon an estimated Henry's Law constant of 1.9 x 10-14 atm-m3/mole.

The hydrolysis studies demonstrated that in environmental conditions MG is in equilibrium with the Carbinol form that, on the contrary, has an high logKow and Koc.
